Bhutto was overthrown by General Zia in July 1977 and sentenced to death in a murder case. In this reply to the government's White Papers, smuggled out of prison, he defends his rule and attacks the military regime. He was hanged in April 1979; in 2024 Pakistan's Supreme Court said he had not received a fair trial.
Written in his death cell in reply to the Zia government's White Paper against him; published in India.
