Written in six-line stanzas (musaddas), it describes the glory of early Islam, the achievements of Muslim civilization and the later decline of Muslims in India, and urges them to take up modern education. Sir Syed said that if God asked what he had done, he would say he got Hali to write the Musaddas.
A long poem on the rise and decline of Muslims, written at Sir Syed's request; it inspired the Aligarh Movement.
