Inculcating universal moral values requires the family, society and educational institutions to work together, and faces obstacles such as materialism, corruption, poor role models and harmful media.
Values are best learned when every influence in a person's life points in the same direction. When parents teach honesty but leaders are corrupt, or schools preach tolerance but society practises prejudice, young people receive mixed messages.
Values cannot be imposed by law alone; they must be nurtured through example and education. When family, society and educational institutions work together, universal moral values become part of the national character.
