What it means

Over half the world's people live in cities, which need affordable housing, transport, clean air and protection from disasters.

Key targets

Adequate housing, safe and affordable public transport, less air pollution, and protection of cultural heritage.

Pakistan and this goal

Pakistan's cities are growing fast; Karachi and Lahore face housing shortages, traffic, smog and urban flooding. Metro bus and train systems have been introduced in several cities.
