Climate change, caused mainly by burning fossil fuels, is bringing heat waves, floods and droughts.

Strengthen resilience to climate disasters, include climate measures in national policies, and raise awareness.

Pakistan and this goal

Pakistan produces under 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions but is among the most climate-vulnerable countries. The 2022 floods covered about a third of the country and affected some 33 million people.
