Life on land

Goal 15

Planet

Protect and restore ecosystems, manage forests, fight desertification and halt biodiversity loss.

What it means

Forests, mountains and grasslands are home to most land species and provide clean water and air.

Key targets

Conserve forests and mountains, stop deforestation, fight desertification and protect endangered species.

Pakistan and this goal

Pakistan's forest cover is low. Large tree-planting drives such as the Billion Tree Tsunami, and community conservation of species like the markhor, are efforts towards this goal.
