Biography

A self-made merchant and philanthropist who campaigned for Sindh's separation from Bombay (achieved in 1936). He chaired the reception committee of the 1938 Sindh Muslim League conference in Karachi, presided over by Jinnah, which called for separate Muslim and Hindu federations, an important step towards the Lahore Resolution.
