Dialectics, Philosophy of Right, the ethical state
Hegel argued that history, ideas and reality itself unfold through a dialectical process — a thesis provokes an opposing antithesis, and their conflict resolves into a higher synthesis, which becomes the next thesis — gradually realizing Absolute Spirit's self-understanding through history. He saw the state not as a necessary evil but as the highest, most rational expression of ethical life, in which individual freedom and the common good are reconciled.
German philosopher who held one of the most prestigious chairs in philosophy of his era, at the University of Berlin, and whose system dominated German academic life after his death.
