6th Prime Minister of Pakistan (1957)
In office: 1957 – 1957
Ibrahim Ismail Chundrigar was a veteran Muslim League leader and lawyer from Gujarat who had held several ministerial posts since independence, and briefly became Prime Minister in late 1957 at the head of an unstable multi-party coalition during one of Pakistan's most volatile political periods.
Chundrigar's brief, two-month tenure is often cited as emblematic of the extreme political instability of Pakistan's pre-martial-law parliamentary era, which ended less than a year later with Ayub Khan's 1958 coup.
Resigned in December 1957 after losing coalition support; died in 1960.
